A Cat Story of Two Cats

This is Teddy aka Theodore H. Cat

Just recently he may have temporarily decided to be called Rocco.  I do not expect this will last.

Back in September,  my dear Eddie died unexpectedly.  I cannot write about it at all.  However just over a month after Eddie's death I was thinking how there was this hole in my house where another cat should be and my daughter sends me a photo of Ted, a stray at the shelter  who was not doing well.  He was withdrawn and he was failing to groom himself.

My daughter who is a shelter volunteer brought him home to her house where he resided under a futon in the spare room,  He was frightened.

I saw him and I said, "That's my cat."

A couple of weeks later, he was hiding out in my spare room.

He soon began to groom himself, boss my dog, Sophie, around and do some exploring.  He's a real part of the family now. 

I want to thank Elizabeth, for her tender heart.  She has a houseful of pets including two rescue dogs, but she found a spot of Theodore and by doing so helped me fill a spot in my home that only Teddy could fill.

I'm going to also thank the Lord for animals, all types.  What a world of wonder, education, help and love we get from them.  Thank you, God.

My good cat, Eddie, we had many silly and happy times.  I will always remember the way he gently touched my cheek with his paw.

Cats and Pots

 

This is Zorro's pot formerlly the home to Japanese blood grass. Perhaps it bled to death.  This summer it can be a cat bed.

Eddie is cuddling to the Japanese maple.  Zorro is sans pot for now.

This was a few years ago.  The old deck and railing, old house color. Same cute cat.  Edward P. Cat aka Eddie Spaghetti.

This is also a couple of years ago.  That summer Zeke spent lots of nap time here.  This planter is now too full of thyme and oregano to interest him.

            Not in the pot, not behind the pot, Eddie is just with the pots.

                     Others nap too, but not in pots. On sofas.  Yay for naps!

                What if you took one right now?  Sounds nice, eh?  Go ahead.

Baby dress

I did finish it.  The baby dress.  It didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped and I don't know who's going to wear it, but I'm glad I've finished an unfinished item.

I wish I had more of the yellow fabric.  I would have done 2 pockets on the skirt.  Or maybe even have done a yellow daisy-type flower.  Oh, well.  It's okay.  I think it would fit a two year old, but being far removed from youngsters, I'm not sure.











Here is my next project.  I think.

Another Amber Creation, but I've not made one of these before.  So let's see if i can pick up where I left off and don't mess it up.

I like the Provincial fabric, but I guess I didn't include the pattern in the photo. It was a tote bag. Here goes.







Confession time.  I'm longing to make something I haven't already started.  A blouse or pair of pants for spring, or a great pattern I found on Craftsy. It's another bag.  See it here. Knotty Girl Boho Bag

The striped socks for my sister are nearly done and when they are, I have another pair I'm working on which you have seen in my sock post. Yellow-green.  After that I must finish my turquoise pull-over.

I'm Off

Oh besides off my rocker, I am leaving for Tennessee in about 12 hours.  Tennessee you say?  Yes, to visit with my son and his wife.  Remember I mentioned making her  something for her birthday in my post before last?  Well, it didn't happen.  I was sewing along and then I made a humongous mistake.  I tried to correct but kept getting more and more frustrated.  Her birthday isn't until the 17th so I'll have time to finish it and mail when I get home.  There will be some major ripping out and resewing.

This is a very large rocking horse carved from wood and using the curve of the  wood for the head and mane.  This was at the art and craft museum store I visited last time.

 So many front porches have one or more of these great rockers.  Here they are for sale at Cracker Barrel.  They're very comfortable and less that  $100.00.

This is Ruby Falls.(Near Chattanooga)  It's an underground waterfall.  About a thousand feet below ground. Amazing.











These are some of the things I saw when I was visiting in the past.  I look forward to seeing some new things this time. However I mostly want to hug my family and then hug them some more.

Fabric?  Since you said yes, let's do.  How much do you love it?  Have you thought about moving so you would have more room for it?  Have you obtained a storage unit to accommodate it?  Do you ever buy fabric just because it's gorgeous even though you haven't any idea what you're going to do with it?  Do you think making your house look something like a fabric store would make you feel good all over?  Have you ever been to Britex?  In San Francisco?  Four stories of fabric and notions?  That is the biggest fabric store I was ever in.  Take a tour here. This takes you to the first floor, but you can see a sample of all the floors.

I also love The Cotton Ball.  It's in Morro Bay, California.  It's not terribly far from the Hearst Castle.  In fact, my family and I were visiting there some years ago.  In our motel room, the TV played places to go in the area. One look at The Cotton Ball and I knew I had to go there.

Well,  I didn't start out to talk about fabric shops, but I love to go to them.  I have also bought fabric online.   These three have always come through with great fabric.  I have ordered more from eQuilter recently.  Big Horn Quilts is another favorite.  I used to ordered from Craft Connection, but they don't seem to be in business any more.  All carry brand-name fabrics.  Yay for fabric!!!
